Several top executives from ZEKU, Chinese phone maker OPPO’s chip unit that closed two months ago, have recently joined the autonomous driving company Momenta. Former ZEKU executives such as COO Li Zonglin, and SoC Department Senior Director Yu Guojun, have made the move to focus on the development of autonomous driving chips. The batch of ZEKU executives recruited by Momenta have predominantly worked in the fields of mobile SoC and GPU. Chinese media outlet 36Kr reported that Momenta intends to further enhance its workforce by bringing in professionals from the automotive industry. Momenta is currently seeking additional funds from investors including the eastern Chinese city Hefei’s government, to support both its talent recruitment and technology development.
