The new TravelMate P4 series has launched with most of the highest-end specs to be found in Acer’s latest crop of Raptor Lake-powered business laptops. They include up to 64GB of RAM, up to 1TB SSDs, and RTX 2050 cards to drive 16:10 displays, even in the new 14-inch convertible version. It also has up-firing speakers with DTS Audio and 4G/LTE to augment Wi-Fi 6E connectivity in common with the non-Spin 14- and 16-inch variants.
The latest P4-series PCs have been upgraded to the latest in TravelMate business-like design, complete with 65Wh batteries and “premium” MIL-STD-rated, flat-edged aluminum casings with Acer Dust Defender Technology and ambient light sensors to adjust display color temperature as well as brightness automatically.
The Windows 11 Pro-powered P4 16/14 and Spin P4 14 also all benefit from dTPM 2.0, FHD IR webcams with physical shutters, Acer PurifiedVoice with AI noise-reduction features for their sound systems and Gorilla Glass-covered touchpads enlarged by ~45% compared to their forebears.
All in all, these TravelMates have a lot in common with the top-end P6 – albeit without the option of 2.8K OLED: the IPS panels here can only go up to 2.5K in the P4 14, with the 16 and Spin P4 14 making do with 1920×1200 resolutions. Then again, they will all have broader Core i3, i5 and i7 13th-gen Intel platform options.
Apart from that, the Spin P4 gets more Gorilla Glass and stylus support for its 360° display, of course. That also makes it the most expensive new TravelMate P4 14-inch PC, starting at MSRPs of €1,249 (~US$1,370) with 32GB of RAM, compared to €1,149 (~US$1,261) for the 14, while the P4 16 would be at least €1,299 (~US$1,425), from June 2023.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
