How to get OnePlus update instantly without waiting in the queue?

Written by Deepak

Every mobile manufacturer releases their devices updates via OTA, some are regular updates, while some are security patches. Whenever these updates are released, they are rolled out in batches where the mass keeps on increasing after every batch. For example round 1 – 1000 people, round 2 – 3000 people and so on. The batches can be region wise or any way they prefer.

Let me cut the crap and get you to the topic of this article.

As soon as the OnePlus updates are released to mass, you can get it on your phone, without waiting for your turn in planned OTA schedule. And yes, you do not need to root your device as well.

All you need to do is: head towards Android Play Store and download the app called OnePlus Updater. OnePlus Updater is a ~3.5mb sized, free and easy-to-use mobile app, which will fetch you the latest OS updates, for your device.

There’s a list of supported devices. (Jan, 2020) (Check: https://oxygenupdater.com/)

  • All this app does is, that it will fetch the suitable updates from OnePlus servers and store it in your Local storage.
  • Once downloaded, exit the app, Go to phone “Settings > System > System Updates”.
  • Click on Gear Icon on top-right of screen, Select “Local upgrade” . It would show your a file called “OnePlus…….xx….xxx…”. Select and Proceed. Rest of the process is completely automatic, where update and optimization occurs.
