Xiaomi has released the Mijia Sweeping Robot 2S for pre-sale in China. The gadget has high-speed mopping and up to 4,000 Pa suction power. The device uses 3D obstacle avoidance and LDS navigation technologies to plan its route. Plus, you can remotely control the device via a smartphone app or voice commands.

The Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 2S is now available to pre-order in China. The vacuum has up to 4,000 Pa suction power and is accompanied by a high-speed rotating mop for deep stain removal. You can choose from three water levels, with an intelligent water control tank and a highly absorbent fabric mophead that helps to dry the floors. The robot vacuum cleaner uses 3D obstacle avoidance technology and LDS navigation to plan an efficient route around your home.

The 2S is powered by a brushless drive motor and comes with ultra-durable wheels which can overcome sudden height changes of up to 2 cm  (~0.79-in). The device is relatively slim, measuring 97 mm (~3.8-in) tall, meaning it will easily fit under many furniture items such as sofas. You can remotely control the gadget using Xiao AI voice commands or the Mijia app. The Mijia system linkage also allows you to trigger the vacuum based on other smart home devices, such as a smart door lock which you could use to start the robot when you leave the house.

You can currently pre-order the Xiaomi Mijia Sweeping Robot 2S in China for 1,699 yuan (~US$240) with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit. The pre-sale runs until December 12, when the product is expected to retail for 1,999 yuan (~US$282). It is unclear whether or when the gadget could go on sale in other markets.
