POCO Malaysia is set to announce the POCO X5 series on 6 February over an online launch event, these are the brand’s first phones for 2023 and comprises the POCO X5 5G and X5 Pro 5G.
The POCO X5 series are mid-rangers and set to be sub-RM1500 phones, while we should expect an incremental spec bump from its predecessor, as rumors have suggested that the X5 Pro could be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G while the X5 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 695, both phones are also expected to come with 120Hz AMOLED displays and 5000mAh batteries with fast charging support.
Other rumored hardware highlights of the X5 Pro include a 108MP main camera, IP5x water and splash resistance, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.
With several mid-range phones such as the realme 10 5G and Honor X9a 5G already released to the market, while we anticipate the launch of the Reno 8T 5G, it is definitely interesting to see how the POCO X5 series will stand in the fierce sub-RM1500 phone competition.
