NetEase Cloud Music, the music arm of tech giant NetEase, announced its official landing in Huawei’s smart console on Thursday. At the end of April, the Hi-Res quality music library of Kugou Music was also launched on the AITO M5, a vehicle manufactured jointly by Huawei and Seres.

NetEase Cloud Music relies on professional musicians and DJs to create a community full of music discovery and sharing. One of the major features of the platform is in the comments sections through which users can connect with each other.

The intelligent console is equipped with smart equipment and services such as a vehicle-mounted infotainment system, dashboard, heads-up display (HUD), and voice interaction systems. Huawei hopes to build a diversified console experience based on its proprietary HarmonyOS.

Huawei has established partnerships with more than 150 software and hardware companies, and more on-board applications will be put on shelves this year. The most recent vehicles will adopt a series of products from those partnerships, including the smart console itself an on-board awning, electronic rearview mirrors, holographic projection, steering systems and intelligent ergonomic seating.

According to forecasts put out by the IHS, the global market for smart consoles will reach $68.1 billion in 2030. ICVTank predicts that China’s smart console market will itself reach 103 billion yuan ($15 billion) in 2025, and the annual compound rate will reach 127% from 2021. As the market expands and uptake continues, innovation will develop further and lead to a steady rise within the country and help it become the largest market in the world in the future.
