Li Auto Launches Flagship SUV Li L7

On February 9, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Li Auto launched the Li L7, its flagship five-passenger family SUV. The Li L7 lineup includes the Li L7 Air, Li L7 Pro, and Li L7 Max, which will retail for 319,800 yuan ($47,086), 339,800 yuan ($47,091), and 379,800 yuan ($55,927), respectively.

Featuring the company’s proprietary all-wheel drive range extension system, the Li L7 boasts a driving range of 1,315 kilometers (817 miles) on the CTLC (Chinese Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) and 1,100 kilometers (684 miles) on the WLTC (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle). The Li L7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in 5.3 seconds.

The Li L7 Air comes standard with the Li autonomous driving Pro “AD Pro” system and the smart space Pro “SS Pro” system, as well as a continuous damping control (CDC) technology. The Li L7 Pro and Li L7 Max both feature Li Magic Carpet air suspension. Like the Li L7 Air, the Li L7 Pro is also equipped with Li AD Pro and SS Pro, while the Li L7 Max comes with the AD Max and SS Max systems.

The new SUV measures a length of 5,050 millimeters (16.6 feet), a width of 1,995 millimeters (6.5 feet), and a height of 1,750 millimeters (5.7 feet). Its wheelbase spans 3,005 millimeters (9.9 feet). With 1,160 millimeters (3.8 feet) of legroom and nearly one meter (3.3 feet) of headroom when fully extended, its rear seats are exceptionally spacious among five-passenger SUVs.

Additionally, the Li L7 comes standard with a panoramic sunroof, power sunshade, a double-layered, silver-plated heat-insulating front windshield, independent rear climate system, heating for all five seats, ventilation and lumbar massage in four seats, and many other advanced features.

The Li L7 is equipped with the company’s proprietary intelligent dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which is made up of a five-in-one front drive unit and a three-in-one rear drive unit. It delivers a maximum power of 330 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 620 Newton meters.

The Li L7 chassis is designed with safety in mind, achieving the highest rating (a “G” rating) in crash tests based on the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) evaluation criteria. This rating allows for 25% frontal offset upon impact on both the driver and passenger sides. The Li L7 is developed to exceed the world’s most stringent rear-end collision standards to better protect its rear passengers. Furthermore, its roof can withstand a load of up to 12 tons.

Both the Li L7 Air and Li L7 Pro models feature SS Pro, powered by a Qualcomm automotive-grade 8155 chip, whereas the Li L7 Max has SS Max, powered by two Qualcomm automotive-grade 8155 chips. The smart in-car voice assistant, Li Xiang Tong Xue, is updated with over-the-air capabilities, featuring the company’s self-developed inference engine for in-car scenarios – LisaRT. It provides solid support for the in-car deployment of more powerful and complex algorithms.

In terms of autonomous driving, both the Li L7 Air and Li L7 Pro come with Li AD Pro powered by a Horizon Robotics Journey 5 chip with 128 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of computing power. The Li L7 Max comes with Li AD Max, powered by dual Orin-X chips with 508 TOPS of computing power.

In addition, the company announced its partnership with two Chinese automotive battery manufacturers, Sunwoda Electric Vehicle Battery Co., Ltd. (Sunwoda EVB) and SVOLT. Both companies have dedicated production lines to assemble battery packs for Li Auto.
