Shenzhen-based auto company BYD’s monthly sales has increased rapidly after launching the  BYD Dolphin after which the company will expand its marine series by launching the Seagull, Sea Lion and Seal series throughout 2022. The BYD Sea Lion model is a pure electric medium-sized SUV, and its road test leaked photo surfaced on July 28.

From the photos, the overall shape of the new model is lower than that of a typical SUV, giving it a “swooping feeling” and therefore creating a sporty look. However, because it is a road test run, the body of the vehicle was completely wrapped in camouflage stickers, with a large number of temporary parts, such as a front grille and headlights.

Like BYD Seagull and Seal, the car will be built based on e-platform 3.0 and benchmarking against the Model Y, which is expected to be unveiled this year.
