TierIV, a Japanese company that specializes in the development of autonomous driving technology, has released its own EV bus, according to a Nikkei report. The bus was made available for purchase on June 21 with a price of over 50 million yen ($350,000). To create this cutting-edge vehicle, the Nagoya-based company sourced vehicles from Chinese EV giant BYD and integrated them with advanced sensors to support autonomous driving capabilities. The company also plans to offer rental services for EV buses and expects to launch nine vehicle models by 2024, including light-duty vehicles and go-karts. In addition to BYD, TierIV will also purchase from Chinese intelligent EV development company PIX Moving and Japanese EV manufacturer FOMM. [Nikkei, in Japanese]
