Honor Magic5 Lite With Snapdragon 695, Curved Display Launched

Honor has announced the Magic5 Lite in France ahead of its big event scheduled during the Mobile World Congress later this month in Barcelona. The smartphone is essentially a rebranded Honor X9a, designed for European markets.

Honor is set to host an event on February 27 during MWC Barcelona where it is expected to unveil the Magic5 series and bring its foldable Magic V to global markets. The Honor Magic5 lineup will include three smartphones, aside from the Lite variant released today. This includes the Honor Magic5, Magic5 Pro and Ultimate.

Honor Magic5 Lite: Features and Specifications

The Honor Magic5 Lite sports a curved 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The display is rated for 10-bit colour output and features 1920Hz PWM dimming. The smartphone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a punch hole cutout in the display to house a 16MP selfie camera.

Honor’s penchant for experimenting with industrial design shows in the Magic5 Lite. The rear panel houses a giant circular camera island that houses a 64MP primary camera along with a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera.

The Honor Magic5 Lite runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone runs on MagicUI 6.1 based on Android 12. It packs a large 5,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging.

Honor Magic5 Lite: Price and Availability

The smartphone is available in Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Titanium Silver colour variants. The Honor Magic5 Lite is priced at EUR 379 (roughly Rs 33,400) for the 6+128GB variant. The smartphone is available for pre-orders in France.

To recall, the Honor brand was spun off from Huawei, and is now operated by a consortium of component makers based out of Shenzhen, China. After a few years of absence from global action due to the sanctions imposed on Huawei by the United States, the Honor brand is slowly making its way back to global markets. In India, however, the company has folded up and shifted its employees to global roles, based out of Dubai. Honor smartphones no longer launch in India.
