Nvidia is expected to launch the RTX 40 mid-range GPUs in the coming months. However, for people who want a card right now, Best Buy has some Founders Edition RTX 30 cards at significant discounts. For instance, the RTX 3070 Founders Edition is now going for US$299, US$200 off the retail price.
While the next-gen GeForce RTX 40 and AMD Radeon RX 7000 are available for purchase, they are not cheap. For instance, the RTX 4090 Founders Edition has an MSRP of US$1,599 whereas the RX 7900 XTX is US$999. Even the RTX 4070 Ti which is supposed to be an upper mid-range costs US$799. To that end, last-gen RTX 30 and RX 6000 GPUs are lucrative alternatives as the cards are still sufficiently powerful.
Best Buy has now put a bunch of RTX 30 Founders Edition boards on a clearance sale resulting in big discounts. The FE GPUs on sale are the RTX 3070, RTX 3080 10 GB, RTX 3080 Ti, and RTX 3090 Ti.
Starting with the RTX 3070 Founders Edition, the card can now be had for US$299 as compared to the US$499 MSRP. The RTX 3070 is an excellent 1080p high-refresh-rate/1440p GPU. In the absence of any mid-range RTX 40 boards, the US$299 RTX 3070 FE is an easy recommendation.
Moreover, the RTX 3080 10 GB and the RTX 3080 Ti are going for US$280 and US$180 off their retail price for the final rate of US$419.99 and US$719.99 respectively. The RTX 3090 Ti is also up for grabs for US$879.99, a discount of US$220.
