Often compared with its younger twin sibling that features AMD’s innovative 3D stacking technology and has the same list price of US$449, the Ryzen 7 5800X is usually subjected to more generous discounts, so it remains a relevant presence in the desktop processor market. For the time being, those interested can grab it for US$239.99, 47% off the aforementioned list price. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D, on the other hand, only comes with a 27% discount.
The popular Ryzen 7 5800X received no less than 14,533 user reviews on Amazon so far and holds an excellent general rating of 4.8/5. This score is the result of 90% perfect reviews, 6% 4/5 assessments, 1% 3/5, and 2% 1/5 user reviews. On the other hand, the 5800X3D has already dropped to 4.7/5 after just 2,151 ratings.
Since this 8-core, 16-thread desktop processor comes unlocked and has a TDP of 105 W when running at stock speeds, AMD has decided to ship it without adding a stock cooling solution to the package. The manufacturer mentioned that a “high-performance” cooler should be used for best results, but did not highlight liquid cooling this time.
