Wikimedia Commons launches a Food Photography contest in India (WLF).

All the photographers pick up your camera and start looking for Indian cuisines. Wikimedia Commons is an online repository of free-use images, sound and other media files and its organizing a photography contest for pictures related to India Food cuisine.

Wiki Loves Food (WLF) is a public photo competition on Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation. Wikimedia India Chapter will be running this contest. For this year, the aim of this project is to improve the quality of pictures of different cuisines of the Indian sub-continental region.

To participate, you need to register yourself(not mandatory) on this link created on Google form and then upload your clicked photos. To upload pictures, you will need a user account in Wikimedia projects. And a new user will be allowed to upload pictures only after 4 days from creating the account.

Its a one time contest, to educate people to promote donating images to commons on a national scale.

This competition ends at 11.59 IST on 15th June 2015.

Wikimedia will be giving cash prizes to the winners.

  1. 1st Prize – INR 20,000
  2. 2nd Prize – INR 15,000
  3. 3rd prize – INR 10,000
  4. Community Award – INR 5,000
